Submission Guidelines:
If you are a student of El Camino you can submit:
Up to three poems
Up to three pieces of visual art (Note: pieces will not be printed in color)
Only one short story, 5000 words max
You can submit a combination of any or all of the above formats as long as you consider the limits.
Large 2-D pieces such as paintings, or 3-D pieces such as sculptures, must be photographed.
Drawings and illustrations may be scanned.

Send your submissions to the.myriad(at)gmail.com (as attachments, please).
With each submission, please include your name, your contact information, and the title of each piece.
Suggested File Formats: Poetry & Prose: Please use MS Word (.doc) or any word processor that can save
Rich Text Format (.rtf). Notepad (.txt) files are also acceptable.
Art & Photography: We will accept most image formats including .jpg/.jpeg, .png, and .tif.
To ensure the preservation of your art's visual integrity, please send us the highest resolution image available.
We strongly prefer receiving our submissions electronically. If you can send us a digital copy of your work,
this means the editors do not have to type or scan it for you, thereby lessening the chance of errors in
your work in the final cut of the magazine.

Our Process
Each issue of Myriad is assembled by students enrolled in English 98. From the beginning of the
spring semester, we advertise around campus. Once the submissions start rolling in, we review, evaluate,
and file them. The evaluation process changes slightly from year to year. This year, we are using scales
from 1-10 to score each submission, basing the scores on common elements of its medium, i.e. plot,
imagery, style, theme, etc. The highest-rated submissions overall -- and within those, the
highest-rated submission per each contributor -- are chosen for publication.
